Amico Properties plans to build a new, larger seniors care facility at 155 Balmoral Ave. in Toronto.
The project will replace the current Amica Balmoral Club. Amico filed an application to the City of Toronto for zoning and official plan amendments that would allow for the construction of a 15-storey center, according to Toronto.com.
The new building, spanning across 145, 147 and 155 Balmoral Ave., includes a 15-storey mid-rise portion that terraces down to three-storeys. The proposed care center would include 147 rental units.
The building would include 25 parking spaces and two barrier-free spaces, as well as 41 bicycle parking spaces.
Currently, Amica Balmoral Club, at 155 Balmoral Ave., is a four-storey c-shaped retirement residence.
